If they can be written into the file, they're always there when you need them, so you don't have to rely on scraping them from somewhere else. These tools were created to help you see, correct, and update whatever information is written into your media files.

Why these exist

Each app targets one file type and does the batch-editing job an mp3tag user would expect, with a review-before-write habit borrowed across the whole family: bulk edits, lookups, and renames all show a before/after preview with a per-item checkbox before anything actually gets written to disk.

They share a common UI/core library, redactor_common, so a fix or feature built for one tends to show up in the others.
